Terms of use

Last updated: August 14, 2026

Helm Sites is a private system provided to one business and its staff. These terms cover using it. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.

1. What the system is

  • An operations system for a construction and electrical contracting business: job sites, orders, materials and equipment, expenses, utilities, claims, estimates, and the reports built from them.
  • Access is by invitation. Accounts are created by an administrator; there is no public sign-up.

2. Your account

  • Keep your password to yourself and don't share your login.
  • What happens under your account is treated as done by you. The activity log records it that way.
  • Tell an administrator straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.

3. Using it properly

  • Use it for the business's work.
  • Enter information accurately. Reports, budgets, and the Helm Score are only as good as what goes in.
  • Don't try to get at data your role isn't meant to reach, or work around the permission system.
  • Don't scrape or bulk-extract data by other means. The export feature is there for that.

4. What each role can do

  • Supervisor: raise material requests and follow their own sites.
  • Staff: day-to-day operations, creating and editing orders, sites, materials, expenses and utilities.
  • Admin: everything staff can do, plus deleting records and managing accounts.
  • Developer: everything, plus system configuration and assigning roles.

These are enforced in the database, not just hidden in the screens. Deleting any record is restricted to administrators.

5. Data and backups

  • The business owns its data and can export all of it at any time.
  • The database is backed up by our hosting provider on their schedule. That is not a guarantee against every kind of loss, and we'd encourage keeping your own exported copy.
  • Deleting a record is permanent. That is why it is limited to administrators and why every deletion asks first.

6. No warranty, and limits

  • The system is provided as is. We work to keep it correct and available, but we don't warrant that it will be free of faults or never unavailable.
  • The analytics, scores, forecasts, benchmarks and insights are aids to judgement, not advice. Business decisions remain yours.
  • We're not liable for losses arising from use of the system, to the extent the law allows.

7. Changes

  • These terms may be updated. Material changes will be announced in the app.
  • Continuing to use the system after a change means accepting it.

8. Governing law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica.
